in the past few years i've been in 3 weddings. i don't really consider that to be a particularly huge number of weddings to be in over the course of 2 1/2 years, because my roommate managed to make appearances in three weddings in one summer, the year she graduated. i do however think that the number of my friends - who are my age, or not much older - who are getting married is a little crazy. i certainly don't feel old enough to be married. at all. though i supposed i might feel differently were i dating someone seriously, but alas, i am not even dating casually. i don't want to go as far as saying i'm always a bridesmaid and never a bride, because i've still got time, but i'm certainly on my way to a fairly decent bridesmaid's dress collection.another sign thing that recently caught my attention and furthered my thinking on this topic, is the fact that the last three albums i've made on facebook, are celebrations of marriage. one wedding i attended, one wedding i was in, and one at-work celebration following elopage. come to think of it, the album previous to those three contains wedding photos as well, from my cousins wedding. seriously—what's with all the weddings?! i think this is the first time in the last 3 or more years of my life that i don't have any friends who are planning a wedding. i do, however, still owe one of the couples' a wedding gift... they say its not impolite to give a wedding gift for up to a year after the wedding, right?
ps. just now as i was looking for a photo to include with this entry, my ipod (which is playing on random) started playing my all-time favorite wedding song... at last by etta james. it was like it knew that i needed some perfect wedding music.
