as many of you know, i started my new job on wednesday. let me tell you this: my first week at work could not have gone better. i like my job, i like the people i work with, and i am excited to learn more and more! it definitely makes four years of miserable schooling well worth it. this is what i was meant to do. this is what makes me excited! not only am i working at a book publisher, but my job is constantly requiring me to solve little design problems, which for me, is SO MUCH FUN. i mean, don't get me wrong, at times it can be a frustrating, hair-pully, teeth gritting experience, but i like it. the satisfaction of knowing that you've solved the problem, and made something visually awkward into something visually pleasing, is tremendous. some of you may not be able to relate at all, to the problem solving, or to the visual pleasure, but to me, my vision, and what i see, is what effects my emotion, my mood, the most. which is why i pay such close attention to all things visual: clothing, shoes, hair, interior decorations, and everything designed! particularly packaging and book covers. this is also why i have such a good visual memory, though other aspects of my memory lack. its also why i have trouble focusing on one person, or a television, etc, if there are other things moving and going on in my vision field.

anyway... i like my job. its going well. i like books. at least to look at... still working on the reading thing... :)
