part of what made my senior year at college so much fun was the incessant game playing. the gin rummy, the dutch blitz, the speed, hearts, and yes, even the the settlers of catan. it was also that year that i learned to play chess for the first time in my life. i sucked, yes, and it really did hurt my brain, but it was still a positive experience. but all this game playing ceased as soon as i left that fine campus, and i must say—i really miss it.last night at the 'bou, there was a group of thirty-somethings playing settlers... and i was really jealous. then a few minutes after this was brought to my attention, two elderly men came and sat at the table next to me, and began playing gin rummy! actually, i think its really rummy 500 but seth taught it to us all as gin rummy. maybe he combined the games... i'm not sure. anyway, point being: i miss playing games in the swallow lounge, in the union, and even at smelly payne's. oh an while we're on the subject of games at payne's... i miss those sunday night roommate dates.
