gardetto's rye chips

a little known fact about myself is that i really love a good handful of gardetto's—a salty, crunchy mix of carbohydratey goodness. gotta love it. the only thing that i do not love about gardetto's is the ratio of rye chips to the rest of the mix. "but there's equal parts of all" you might say. i know, and herein lies the problem. the rye chips are by far the best part of gardetto's, which is probably why they sell bags of just the rye chips and nothing else. i told audrey the other day that i was contemplating buying this bag of just the rye chips, because those are really the only bits i want anyway. being the wise woman she is, she countered that without the rest of the mix, the rye chips wouldn't be so special, so magical, so spectacular. and you know what? i think she's right. they're like the diamond in the rough, but without the rough, they wouldn't be so precious. so i came up with another solution: i bought one bag of gardetto's original mix, and one bag (free, thanks to jewell's buy one get one sale this week) of gardetto's rye chips, and combined them together in a ziploc, thus increasing the rye chip ratio to a more appropriate and satisfying level. brilliance. and now—i indulge.
